History

Similar Mode was established in 1956 by two sisters, Mary Hack and Alfreda Bachmann, in response to the expanding medical uniform industry.  It was operated for a few years when in 1961 a consortium of investors purchased the store. The partners, Stump & Lillian Lehenbauer, Anne & Maurice O’Gara, and Dorothy & Dean Boyd, operated the business until 1979, when Dorothy & Dean Boyd purchased the other partners interest. Over the years, the business expanded into industrial and carrier wear.

In 1980 the second generation, Bob and Alice(a RN herself) Boyd became partners. The business expanded further, adding embroidery.  The business remains committed to providing the best quality in uniforms and service.
